About Jessica Martin
I took this course because I was interested in photography and wanted to learn more to help to make me a better photographer. I loved photography 9 and wanted to come back and learn different aspects of photography. In this course, I learned many things. Some of the things I learned how to do include panning, how to use the studio lights, and how to do light painting. I loved learning all of these new techniques and hope to continue to use them after the course ends. I have been so excited about photography that I asked for and received Photoshop for Christmas and am looking forward to taking my work even further.
One of the things that I found challenging was finding poses for my studio portraits and arranging the lights to give me the best look. Another thing that I found challenging about this course was taking the projects that our teacher gave us and finding an exciting way to show it in my pictures. I found it the hardest to do the light painting assignment because it was difficult to draw something without being able to see it.
My favorite assignments were the creative zone assignment and the outdoor portraits. I like creative zone because it was fun to try out different techniques that are simple to do but help to make your photos look really interesting. I liked the outdoor portraits because it was fascinating to learn the different rules that help to make your photos look like they were taken by a professional.
Photography for me is a way to express yourself. It lets you capture moments in life that you want to look back on and can capture all the elegance of the world around you. I love looking back at all the pictures that I have taken this year and seeing how much my pictures have improved from beginning to end. Every assignment that we did this year taught me something new and helped me understand all the different ways you can use a camera to make your pictures attractive.
